I absolutely loved Sempre. J.M Darhower picked an extremely sensitive topic, slavery, and worked around it beautifully. I laughed and I cried. I immediately fell in love with the characters and the story is just heart wrenching but at the same time. And Nicholas, oh Nicholas. He was just a secondary character but he certainly played a major role in the book for me! Simply breathtaking.
